Creating an express application

You can use the New Application wizard to quickly create an express application. You run the wizard in express mode when you do not require full access to the features in the Pega 7 Platform, or you are inviting another user to explore the Pega Express environment.

Note: You cannot create an express application for yourself when you are logged in as the [email protected] user.

  1. In the Application menu, click New Application to start the wizard.

  2. Select Express application from the list that is displayed, and click Create new application.

  3. Indicate who will use the application.

  4. Optional: Enter a name in the Application name field.

  5. Optional: Select an organization name from the Organization list.

  6. Click Submit & create.

  7. On the confirmation screen, review details about the application, such as the newly created application rule and access group.

    If you invited another user, the credentials for the associated operator and the status of the email invitation are also displayed on this screen.

  8. Click Close.

  9. If you created an express application for yourself, click [Current application] > Switch Application > [Express application] to access it.

    Invited users access an express application by clicking the link in the email invitation and entering the user name and password that you provided.

Tip: Add Developer to the list of portals in the [Express application]:Authors access group, if you want to switch between express mode and Designer Studio as you develop your application and access all features in the Pega 7 Platform. By default, express applications are developed in express mode only.
